In January, I picked up a European combo hunt at an auction I went to that seemed to be a pretty good deal for the 2025 or 2026 season. Long story short, I have been asked (not required) by the wife to sell it due to potentially having another child in the near future that will logistically make it very difficult to travel around the time of the hunt. We agreed that if I can get my original purchase price of $7K recovered, I'd be willing to sell it. If not, then I would just plan on going regardless of the logistics (hunts aren't getting any cheaper).
In short, the hunt is a 5 day hunt in a choice of either Austria or Hungary for a combination of both Red Stag and European Fallow Deer. The hunt includes 4-star lodging accommodations (can be upgraded to a stay in a Castle for an additional $250/night), meals, and trophy fees on both red stag (for up to SCI 320") and fallow deer (for up to 3.5 KG of antler weight). Can upgrade for additional trophy fees in terms of other species or size. Options for both free-range and estate locations (I was intending to book for free-range). The stay includes 4 star hotel or hunting lodge accommodations, but can be upgraded to a Castle Estate for $250/night. If booked directly through the outfitter at their published rates, this hunt would come in at around $14K. I would sell for my original purchase price of $7K (about half price of published pricing).
I chose this hunt because I tend to like to hunt various species in their native locations (gives me reasons to go places I likely otherwise would never go), and Hungary has some of the best original bloodlines/genetics for stags. The European hunts are especially fun because you can combo with other tourism after the hunt. I did this in Scotland and it was one of the best trips I have ever taken and was fun for the whole family (if not dealing with infants).
If anyone has serious interest in potentially going on this hunt, send me a message and I can send over more information (i.e. contract, brochures, price list, hunting auction flyer, etc.). The hunt contract is transferable through the outfitter, so it would be a legit transaction and not something under the table.
