Okay we see these all over the place now - and apparently they are mostly 3rd party contractos. This was obviously done to limit their liability and exposure.

But they have been involved in collisions and injuries and deaths - Just recently an Amazon van hits, kills California toddler

An Amazon delivery van struck and killed a 23-month-old girl in Irvine, California, on Tuesday, authorities said.

The collision happened just after 3:30 p.m. in the parking lot of an apartment community near the 300 block of Estancia, the Irvine Police Department said in a news release.
First responders raced to the scene to help the child, but she was found dead, according to police.
While the cause of the collision remains under investigation, police said that drugs or alcohol do not appear to be a factor.

Police said the Amazon delivery van is operated by a third-party contractor.

not much information available (seems to be the new norm in reporting news) But this is likely due to not seeing the 2 year old in the street - which in my mind leads to why was she in the street to begin with?

Sad for the kids family obviously and they are likely to file a law suite - but against who??

The question here is going to be what (if any) liability will Amazon have in such cases? It is obvious that they use 3rd party contractors for their work just to avoid such things as well as not to have to provide them any benifits. What would be the requirements to over-ride this protection they put in place for being liable for such things ?
