My parents are both in their 80's and are at the point where they are about to move out of their home and into a facility.

I have two brothers who are twins and 5 years younger than me. We are very close and have had relatively little family drama over the years. I would call all of us pretty reasonable. We are all reasonably well off too. I have two grown, married children, and one brother has two children in junior high.

We are about to have to figure out how to divide up Mom & Dad's stuff. There will be some things like guns, jewelry, and baseball cards that have some value. There will also be some antique furniture that someone might want and might have a bit of value. Then there will be a house-full of stuff that we don't need.

I'm interested to know what process y'all have used to go about this with your siblings. I'm imagining somehow my brothers and I go thru it first, then open up whatever's left to our kids.

Also interested to know the best way to get rid of everything else afterwards.

Thanks in advance.
