It's summer, which means it's about time for the AC units to break. I've gotten pretty handy over the years but was hoping someone might help with a problem I can't solve. It's not the condenser capacitor or fan motor.
One of my units will turn on but not blow cool air. The condenser fan would sometime spin, but not all the time. I ran an Ohm test on both the fan motor and the capacitor and they both check out. Just in case, I replaced the fan motor anyway since the AC guy told me last year it's about to go out (8 years old).
Anyway, my other units fans seem to always spin when it's trying to cool but the broken unit only seems to run for a few minutes and then turn off for awhile. The thermostat says the whole time it's "cooling" but it never actually cools down.
Any clue where the problem could be? Could it be the controller board of the condenser? Something else?
