It's the middle of the summer doldrums, which means it's time again for the AY Trout Mask Replica Challenge.
There's nothing to it, really...all you have to do is listen to Captain Beefheart and His Magic Band's 1969 album Trout Mask Replica from start to finish without pausing or turning down the volume, and without interruption. You must listen to the entire album. Turning it on and mindlessly doing other stuff is not permitted as you must listen to the words and the full instrumentation to pass the challenge.
For reference, Rolling Stone ranks this album as the #58 greatest album of all time, and the Library of Congress added it to the US National Recording Registry due to its culturally, historically, or aesthetically importance, and/or inform or reflect life in the United States. This is considered one of the greatest recordings in the history of all of humankind.
