Any prayers and good thoughts for my family would be greatly appreciated. Although we initially believed my grandfather suffered a stroke and a fall Friday morning (my parents live on the same property that he does and found him on the floor), it has now been determined he has a tumor on his brain. Although they have not officially declared it as such, it is thought that the tumor is cancerous. He has since developed a second bleed (the tumor area has a bleed) on his brain stem.
Some tough decisions could be coming for my dad and his brothers. My grandpa has been miserable and depressed since my grandma passed 2 years ago. He is fairly aware of what is going on but combative some and not overly cooperative. Unfortunately he is not a candidate for much in terms of procedures as he is not in good health and has COPD from smoking most of his life.
Whatever the end result is, I think we are all at peace with but the decisions will still have to be made and will be hard on my dad and uncles.
