I honestly didn't like country music very much growing up in the 70's, even being a lifelong Texas but my dad & best friend loved it. Dad watched Hee Haw every Saturday night, so I was exposed to lots of different acts & also some Bluegrass groups. It seems like a seed was planted.
As I aged, the music appreciation of this genre blossomed. I even allowed myself to broaden my musical appreciation to also include Western Swing & Bluegrass groups. Now, they are some of my favorite genre's to listen to after a hard day/week of work. FWIW, listening to Classic Country music get me very productive with manual labor that needs to be done around the property of the old homestead.
Had a big tree fall in my back yard earlier this week. It's gonna take a few hours to cut it up with my chainsaw, but I have to have Classic Country playing in the background. Listening to Waylon Jennings right now. Enjoy his music (along with Willie's) more than ever in my 60+ old life.
Anyone else in the same camp?
