Johnny Manziel

Here's the original Johnny Football and it's NOT Roger Staubach as some (Lou Holtz being one) would compare Manziel to.

Minnesota QB Fran Tarkenton. Watch this 58 second video. If you put Manziel in a Viking uniform you would swear he was Tarkenton and vice versa if you put Tarkenton in an Aggies uniform.

Never to win a division title perhaps?

That's tough to grasp as most highly recognized QBs at least win their conference or division.

How did the aggies lose 4 games this year?

Definitely wasn't his fault.

Let's see...you guys were Co-Champs of the Big12 last year correct?

And Johnny scorched you guys and was relaxing on the bench by the middle of the 4th quarter right?

Fans and players were just po'd back then because the BCS took away their BCS tickets and game. Neither fans or players were prepared or happy to be in the Cotton Bowl. It's hard to understand, but a Cotton Bowl scenario is a turn the page and hope for a better year next season for Sooners. It was obvious nobody cared to be in the Cotton Bowl, but Manziel.

What happened in 2014, when Sooners are invited to a Sugar Bowl match-up with the gold standard of the SEC, Bama? Well, you saw a totally different focus and effort by the team and Sooners fans. You and the entire nation as the Sugar Bowl had a 50% increase in Sugar Bowl viewership. Tradition rich football against tradition rich football collided.

Right or wrong that's how Sooners are wired. You wouldn't or couldn't understand that being an aggie without our decades of tradition or success. It is what it is.

Just to put it into perspective...

OU won a share of a Big12 conference title in 2013, then went on to win a BCS Sugar Bowl title in 2014. Aggies won a Cotton Bowl title in 2013 and a Chick-Fil-A title in 2014 with a Heisman QB.

See the difference?

Yeah, I see the difference. I SAW an Alabama team sleep walking in the Sugar Bowl as you described your Sooners did last year in the Cotton Bowl. Thing is, your excuse for getting blownout last year is total bush league...you couldn't handle Manziel PERIOD.

Also, what's your excuse for getting blownout and totally embarrassed by a non-ranked longhorn team this year? Hahahaha..oooooh, ooooooh.

the gold standard of the SEC, Bama?

1st: In 2012, UF welcomed aTm & Johnny $ignature to the SEC with a 17 - 20 home loss.
While aTm later went into Bama's 'gold standard' house and gave the BCS-NC their only loss.
============

Bama is now the SEC's Gold Standard you claim??? (ignorance abounds)
What media-morons and/or idiot-commentators claim is not always factual!

Since the 1992 SEC expansion to 12 teams with a conference championship game:

Florida -- 1 mNC 1996, 2 BCS-NC's 2006-08

SEC-C Games:

UF 4-3 Bam

UF 2-0 Ark

UF 1-0 AU

UF has Ten SEC-C appearances going 7-3 Overall

Non-winning Seasons: 2013 4-8 was UF's ONLY losing season in that span.
(or since 1979 {34 years} for that matter)

Alabama - 1992 mNC, 3 BCS-NC's 2009-11-12

SEC-C Games:

UA 3-4 UF

UA 1-0 UGA

UA has Eight SEC-C appearances going 4-4 Overall

Non-winning Seasons: 1997 4-7 ~ 2000 3-8 ~ 2003 4-9 ~ 2004 6-6 ~ 2006 6-7

Only if you're talking about phool's gol....
02

PS

When NCAA Record Season Scoring (702 pts) Okeey-Dukie (54 pts/gm) played UF

for the BCS-NC, they were held to -40 on their per game average, while a glorified FB

put 24 pts on them for a double-digit Gator win....
08

So much for your Heisman pretender QB, your Big12-C, and your #1 Ranking...
04

I got your 'gold standard' swingin' bubba.....

I saw plenty of OU in seats filled on the OU side of the Cotton Bowl in the 1st half. Didn't look like a ticket issue to me. Now maybe if the exits were larger you could have picked any seat on the OU side by the middle of the 3rd. Pure Texas Aggie dominance of the Big12 Champs and it could have been a lot worse, but Sumlin took the foot off of JFF's gas pedal by the 4th.

Of course everybody is allowed their own personal opinions on what 'Best' means.
And by definition, opinions are never right or wrong, they just are...

However, never compare his stats/records/awards with the T-boner's,
or your Johnny $ignature baloon will burst like a cheap soap bubble.
wink.r191677.gif

That's where the facts seperate out the opinions....
smokin.r191677.gif

Johnny is in the mold of a Fran Tarkenton or maybe a Doug Flutie, but with way less
'good' character. But of course, that last statement is jmoho....

As to this Big 12/11/whatever's left,,, fan. Winning is important is it?

16 (15) Year BCS-NC History 1998 > 2013 (2004 title voided)

SEC ~ 9-1-(2) (with 5 different teams)

Alabama - 3-0

LSU ~ 2-1 (Bama vs LSU)

Florida ~ 2-0 (vs #1 Ranked, Heisman QB'ed teams)

Auburn ~ 1-1 (the weakest BCS era SEC team, +3 Ore, -3 FSU)

Tenn ~ 1-0

SEC-e 3-0 -- SECw 6-1-(2)

ACC ~ 3-3 (2 teams)

FSU ~ 2-2

Mia ~ 1-1

Big 12/11 ~ 2-4 (2 teams)

Okla 1-3

Tx ~ 1-1

* The Bob-boon led Okeey-Dukies have the distinction of losing the most

BCS-NC games, showing how often they are media-moron over-rated...

Big Ten/12 ~ 1-2 (1 team

tOSU ~ 1-2 ~ shows how weak the Big Ten/12 still is, 1 team, with a losing record)

PAC 10/12 ~ 0-3 (2 teams, of the new and improved O-fer LAC 12)
02

USC ~ 0-2 (was 1-1 before NCAA cheater voided)

Ore ~ 0-1

In-Depends ~ 0-1

Neutered Lame 0-1 (vastly over-rated but still propped-up by the media-moron votes)

UF's annual in state OoC rival FSU, was 1-1 vs SEC teams in BCS-NC games.

Everybody else in every other conference was O'fer - 8.
(last 10 games, UF 7 - 3 reF$Ucks)

UF plays 8-9 SEC games plus perennial ACC-C FSU every year.
10

But far, the toughest annual OoC opponent of any team in the SEC.

===============

Listed Football NC's for SEC teams: mNC's (BCS-NC's)

Ten of the SEC's current 14 member teams have won a NC, 5 with BCS-NC's.
(throw that stat up for ANY other conference)

14 Alabama ~ 11 (3-0)

4 Tenn ~ 3 (1-0)

4 LSU ~ 2 (2-1)

3 Auburn ~ 2 (1-1)

3 Florida ~ 1 (2-0)

2 aTm ~ 2 (0-0)

2 Ole Miss ~ 2 (0-0)

2 UGA ~ 2 (0-0)

1 Ark ~ 1 (0-0)

1 UK ~ 1 (0-0)

Never won a NC's: VU, SCa, MissSt, Mizzou

=============

Just for a little time-line perspective:

Tx A&M ~~ last NC 1939

Kentucky ~ last NC 1950

Ole Miss ~ last NC 1962

Arkansas ~ last NC 1964

Mich St ~~ last NC 1966

Pittsburgh ~ last NC 1976

UGA ~~~~~ last NC 1980

PSU ~~~~~ last NC 1986

Neutered Lame ~ last NC 1988

* Long before any of today's College players were even born.

Prior to the injury plagued 2013 4-8 season:

UF led the nation in consecutive bowl appearances (22) going 12-10.

And they had gone 33 consecutive years (1979) without a losing season.

(did someone mention a Gold Standard or the importance of winning?)
smokin.r191677.gif

Florida has won 3 NC's since 1996.... (the last 18 years)

Includes two of the SEC's All Time Conference Record - 7 Consecutive NC's.

That's 2 of 7 in the SEC's toughest/strongest conference era, where winning
the SEC-C is tougher than winning the BCS-NC game.

If I had to pick the 3 SEC-C / BCS Era Gold Standard SEC Teams: UF-UA-LSU
SEC-C (regular season record, then championship game results)
1. 10 UF 7-3
2. 8 UA 4-4
3. 5 LSU 4-1
BCS-NC (voters decide first, then BCS-NC game results)
1. UA 3-0 - 2009-11-12
2. LSU 2-1 - 2003-07-11
3. UF 2-0 - 2006-08

He was the best! So glad my Rebels will never, ever, "ever" have to face him again. What that cat did on the college football field, and the way he did it, was beyond anything I have ever seen! I would rather face Florida State with 11 offensive players, than Texas A and M with 7, and Manziel being one of the 7!

I understand that there will be 107,000 in attendance Saturday Night. That's fine with me, as long as #2 stays in Cleveland!

Johnny Manziel, the BEST college football player ever!

Good Luck Aggies! Looking forward to a great football experience on Saturday!

Amazing Place! Great Experience! God Bless Texas! Y'all are an amazing people!

Johnny Manziel is still the greatest!
