Hey Durkin, WTH?

Just watched the game again. I didn’t count, but there were over a dozen times when Durkin went with the three man front. That’s not my frustration because he often brought pressure from different positions. What makes no sense to me is that he used his DE’s (Overton, Diggs, Sylla, and E White) as LBs. Often they would line up as sort of MLB. He would have Russell or Coop covering the slot and then they would rush. The rush was often successful, but why on earth would you put your DE in space? Never did any of them make a tackle or cover anyone. Sometimes the DE would cover the slot. They would either rush or drop in coverage. When they rushed they would be somewhat effective, but no more so than just lining up and rushing. When they tried to cover, they were pointless.

I have no idea why he thinks this is a good idea. I think we were successful in getting pressure because our DL is just full of superior talent. Why would he think this makes any sense?
