There was lots of discussion about NIL, portal and recruiting. Sabin thinks colleges should come up with some type of revenue sharing with the athletes and not have the collectives involved. You then treat NIL separately utilizing the collectives. Sabin was asked if the NCAA could provide guidance. That's when he said that because each state has different NIL laws, Congress will have to come up with some type of high level legislation to prevent athletes from suing the schools and the state. I don't know if that would work, there are a lot of moving parts, but I thought it was interesting.
I hadn't seen Sabin do a non football interview. He is impressive. He was asked if he would consider becoming the College Football Commissioner. He said he has plenty of different businesses to take care of.
