I did this in the summer and was interested in winter electricity generation.
Energy experts, your thoughts would be appreciated.
Green energy type (states) in the Upper Midwest sure do burn a lot of coal for electricity.
Have they not invested in "clean" energy?
Is the below plan possible?
What is the Upper Midwest energy plan?
Under Xcel Energy's Upper Midwest Energy Plan, more than 80% of customers' electricity in the region would be carbon free by the end of the decade. The plan calls for retiring all the company's coal plants by 2030, dramatically increasing wind and solar energy and extending the use of nuclear energy.
MISO grid:
-45 million people depend on MISO to generate and transmit the right amount of electricity every minute of every day
-The 15 states covered by MISO are:
Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, sliver of East Texas, and Wisconsin
currently, as of this post, 38% of electricity for the MISO grid is from burning coal?
