After watching the blatant inconsistency of the Umps throughout the regionals and supers, it seems like it would be better to replace the Umps with some kind of techno gadget that could call balls and strikes more accurately and without debate.
Surely the technology exists to do this rather easily. I know some would say it is part of the game but its a bad part of the game. Its like saying we don't need instant replay in football only because inconsistency and lack of certainty on a forth down or catch no catch is an important part of the game.
