Coaching ............... mainly the offensive play calling and time management. Carson running parallel to the line of scrimmage on four out of ten runs? ESPN had a chart where of the six zones you can throw into, the middle had less than ten percent of our total for the year. Much more that has been mentioned here before but it could kill us at some point.
The second on coaching would be time management. An example is how we did the last minute of the third quarter and into the fourth. We got the ball back with a minute in the quarter. We gave the ball back with fifteen seconds in the quarter and that includes punting with the time running down and 20 seconds on the play clock. They could have run the clock down to zip and punted from the other end to start the quarter. Pass plays in the fourth? Running out of bonds in the fourth? Snapping the ball consistently with more than 15 seconds on the time clock, several times with more than 20 seconds on the clock.
We slowed our play from the first half but a pro team would with optimum time management would have had the game over at the 7 minute mark in the fourth quarter. We allowed another 7 minutes in the game that should not have been played.
One other item, Allen was average in the second half. Maybe going slow really messes with him since he is used the tempo of the first half and not so much the slower second half.
