Daniels updates recruiting (Fletch)

Euless Trinity defensive tackle Chris Daniels has seen a lot of coaches come by this spring which is normal at the Texas powerhouse high school, but he probably never thought he would get this much attention this spring as a majority of the top schools in the nation have come out to see Daniels in person.

“Alabama, Baylor, Iowa, Kansas, Kansas State, Michigan, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, SMU, Texas, Texas A&M, and Texas Tech have all come by this spring,” he said. “There are a lot more, but I can’t remember them all.”

A&M defensive line coach Mark Hagen has been the main recruiter for the Rivals100 player and has been talking to the talented defensive tackle a lot.

“Coach Hagen talks to me all the time,” he said. “He told me he liked what he saw out of me in spring practice and really wants me at A&M.”

Right now Daniels is not mentioning any favorites and will sit down soon and figure out where he wants to visit soon.

“I don’t have any idea when I want to narrow down the schools,” he said. “I will figure out visits soon as well.”

Daniels is going to play things close to the chest which is expected. Euless Trinity kids are usually not outspoken and like to keep things quiet. It would not be a surprise it Daniels has A&M as the top team right now, but it is still a long ways from over it looks like.

Cuffee talks offer, plans visit, and possibly cutting the list down (Fletch)

Waco cornerback Eric Cuffee finally got his A&M offer after coach Terry Joseph went down to evaluate him. Cuffee is nearing 35 offers with A&M being the latest offer. Cuffee was thankful that A&M finally offered.

“I’m blessed that A&M offered,” he said. “A&M is really a great school and I’m glad that they offered.”

Cuffee is planning on making a visit down to A&M soon as this will be his second visit down to A&M as he was also there for A&M’s Friday Night Lights.

“I was planning on going down sometime in June,” he said. “With the offer I’ll for sure make the trip.”

Cuffee got word from head coach Kevin Sumlin about the offer when Sumlin called him and told him why A&M offered him.

“Coach Sumlin told me a lot of great things about A&M,” he said. “He also told me that I would fit perfectly into their defensive schemes.”

Cuffee does not know when he will commit, but says he could possibly be cutting down the list of schools really soon.

“I might make a top ten when I go up to Oregon for The Opening,” he said.
