Chris Daniels needed a big game last night and Trinity needed him to come up big in order for them to beat De La Salle. Daniels did not get a lot of tackles or a lot of sacks, but what he did was he got double team most of the night and let keep his linebackers free. Anytime De La Salle tried to only block him with one guy, he sent the guard back 4 or 5 yards. He has a lot of potential, but he has some flaws. First thing is he relies way too much on his size. He still needs to get his technique down so when he does play a lineman that is his size he will be able to get by him. I was worried about his conditioning heading into the game, but I think it held up well and Trinity wanted to rotate guys often to wear down a worn out De La Salle team.
As far as his recruiting goes, Daniels plans to make an announcement on it later today via Twitter. He will not give me much details about his recruiting process. I still think A&M leads, but Michigan is making up ground.
All in all I needed to see a big game from Daniels. I needed to see when the game was on the line he could make a play. He did just that when it mattered the most.
