It started last Sunday when my best friend from H.S. lost his battle with cancer...51 yrs old with a wife, two boys (both grown) and a precious 3 year old girl. He was best man in my wedding 27 years ago, I was best man in his first wedding 30 years ago. He was adopted at birth by a small town doctor who studied at Baylor. Naturally my friend grew up a Baylor fan and later got his degree from BU. His younger brother, however, didn't follow in brother and Dad's footsteps. He was a member of the FTA Band and earned his degree from A&M in 89'. All these years we (his brother and I) worked on my friend to become a fan of Texas A&M. Well, about 6 years ago, our many years of hard work finally paid off. He disowned his longtime school (BU) and became a HUGE Aggie fan. He was even in attendance in Tuscaloosa when Johnny & Co. took down Saban and the Tide.

Anyway, my friend passed on Sunday...then my father went to the ER that same day with what appears to be a mild stroke...his second in the past month. The CT Scan didn't reveal it but they're doing an MRI on Tuesday. I was having to be with my father and missed my friend's funeral. Tough week.

So now I am at home taking a break from helping with my father. I am sitting here pondering...whether I should tie one on and put on "Pink Floyd The Wall" ...THE MOVIE. It's been years since I last sat and watched it. I remember during my party years (80's), I had my own VHS copy...and it went with me everywhere. After leaving the club with friends, we would settle in at my pad or a friend's pad and continue the party. After getting totally smashed (fk'ed up royally), I would pop in The Wall. Back then, that was the best way to watch it....FK'ED UP!

Okay Geldof, here I come.
