Sorry if these guys are old news, but I stumbled across this band today on my Turnpike Troubadours Spotify Radio station and really like their sound. Very original and unique.
They're an all-acoustic, 3-piece string band that are kind of a mix of hipster bluegrass/"newgrass", Americana, old-time gospel and ragtime swing. I can't really peg their sound as country yet is sounds more genuine country than the sh!t spewing out of Nashville.
I detest today's formulaic "country" radio and haven't listened to it in 15 years or more. Like many of you guys I almost exclusively listen to "Texas"/Red Dirt music but I thought some of y'all might appreciate this band.
I'm a fool for original, all-acoustic, lyrically creative music and I know others on here are too.
Give it a listen and see what you think.
Another similar band I came across was...believe it or not...Trampled by Turtles.
