Out here at the ranch. Pulled cards from cameras today and it looks as though we're in for a good hunting season ahead. Of course this makes three years in a row that we've had good summer rains here in Mitchell County...and it shows. Good rain, lots of browse and protein make for some quality antlers. Keep in mind that the bucks in these photos still have a month of growing left from the time the photos were taken.

13 pt...main frame 10 with 3 "kickers"...so far:

8 pt...been watching this deer for two years. He's one of the "triplets"...all have the same characteristics (rack grows nearly straight up),same age, long brow tines, long G-2's...but the tips of their brows separate them. Normally we would take down mature 8's but when we see an 8 with exceptional characteristics and genetics, we make an exception and let them walk so they can breed and pass on those exceptional genes
