I was amazed with Mark's stat that we had not gone 5-0 in consecutive years in our salad days from 1984-1998, a period when we dwelled in the top 10.
We did go without a loss at all in 1956, and went 8-2 in 1957, losing the last two in a ten game season ,which knocked us out of a consensus # 1 ranking which we had held for four weeks running.
So, while we did not lose any of the first 5 games in both 1956 and 1957, the first 5 in 1956 were marred by a 14-14 tie with Cougar High, 4-0-1 in the old time stats before we came up with overtime play.
