First off this morning, if you haven't ventured over to the main board this morning to take a look at the new layout, take a look at it HERE. I know with as many differing opinions as there are, that not everyone will like it. I think it is an obvious upgrade in functionality and is the first step in the right direction of an overhaul of Rivals.com

Now for some randomness:

A few more guys from spring that I wanted to mention that I was impressed with and why:

Christian Kirk - One coach I asked said he was "as good as advertised" and the very talented receiver has come in early, continued the tremendous work ethic we saw in his quest for his fifth star in his senior year and could very well be the starter in the slot when the Aggies take the field in NRG Stadium against Arizona State. The timing of his arrival, paired with the rise of Kyle Allen could lead to some big numbers put up by both of them before their time in College Station is done. The talent at the WR position is going to make it very difficult for defenses to cover any one guy without someone else getting loose.

Myles Garrett - Some are thinking, what in the world could you say about Garrett that hasn't been said? Everyone knows who he is now, but wait until the season gets going with an improved line-up around him and a defensive scheme that will thrive off his ability to get after the QB. He is fairly known now but the buzz starting to make the rounds now with some big time national writers putting him out there lately is growing daily. I predict he will have a huge season this year and will be gone following the season after that. Enjoy watching him while he is here, he'll be gone before you know it. It would probably be a good class for the Aggies to get his future replacement so he can learn from Garrett for a year before he leaves. He is also coming out of his shell a little more. He is a shy kid but I expect we'll get our first media session with him in August.

James White - A lot of the talk at the running back position surrounded around the tremendous shape Brandon Williams came into spring ball in. While Williams is clearly in a better spot, White and Tra Carson will still get touches. James White is a very good running back at this point and he used his fumble and subsequent time on the sidelines in the bowl game as motivation. He will take a big step forward this year in his development and in the new run game scheme.

High School Spring Ball Is Near

As the colleges move out of spring football the high schools are moving into it. The coaches will begin hitting the road and you can expect a wave f new offers to go out as they get a chance to see players they have had their eyes on but have been waiting to see in person before extending an offer.

I would expect some more players to start making decisions as well which will start the dominoes falling and more commitments across the board. If I had to guess who the next commitment would be for the Aggies, I would probably say Houston (TX) Westside DT Jordan Elliot is one to keep an eye on.

In addition we will make it out to see as many of the top targets as possible as well.

The Things We Do For Our Kids...

I get the distinct honor of going with the family to see Frozen on Ice tomorrow. I don't mind taking my girls to see things like this as it is great to see them be so excited and get to experience things like that. As much as I cringe at hearing another round of the Frozen soundtrack, in the end, hearing it one more time at this point can't do much more damage.

I know there has to be others on this board who are taking their kids. Don't lie, sound off if you are going to be at one of these shows over the next few days. Give me some tips on how to make it more bearable.
