It didn't work out at TCU. Now transferring to Arkansas State to play QB.

From the Dallas Morning News;

TCU has lost an explosive weapon less than two weeks from its opener.

Echols-Luper is widely considered one of the fastest players in college football, competing in track at TCU and earning second-team All-American honors in the 2014 outdoor season from the USTFCCCA in the 4×100 relay. He was also the Big 12 indoor champion in the long jump with a 7.61m jump in his winning attempt.

As a sophomore, Echols-Luper had just nine catches for 72 yards, but was the Horned Frogs’ main punt returner and was expected to reprise his role in 2015. He had 33 returns for 349 yards and a touchdown in 2014. As a freshman, he had 14 punt returns for 187 yards to go with four catches for 21 yards.

This offseason, Echols-Luper and the TCU coaching staff experimented with a switch to cornerback in an effort to get the versatile athlete on the field, but injuries to other receivers kept him on offense all spring.

A three-star recruit in the class of 2013 from Auburn, Ala., Echols-Luper is the son of TCU running backs coach Curtis Luper.

According to NBC5′s Newy Scruggs, Echols-Luper will be transferring to Arkansas State to play quarterback, which he played in high school.
