How the hell did he ever land the Nevada HC gig? ST and TE performance was dog shit his one year on staff here. Who at Nevada fell and hit their head on decision day and concluded that this guy was the most qualified for the job?
Here's a snapshot of our ST performance from that year:
And TE is barely worth mentioning... on the season, our TEs generated a whopping 77 yards on 9 catches. No clue how many offensive formations we ran that even involved the TEs to begin with, but it wasn't many. All the more reason to treat their performance as an afterthought IMO. It wasn't like Sumlin assigned him some critical responsibility with this unit. I know blocking is a primary focus for these guys, but do any services even track that data at the college level -- and for public consumption? If so, please point me to the source.
