12th Man Productions Nominated for Five Lone Star EMMY Honors



DALLAS –
Texas A&M Athletics’ 12th Man Productions received five Lone Star EMMY nominations in various sports categories throughout the 2021-22 season.



The Pulse: Texas A&M Footballreceived a nomination for the best Sports Program – Produced or Edited. The Aggie football series, which has been a winner the last two consecutive years, was created by the ensemble production team of Cade Key (Director), Matt Alvarado (Audio), Caleb Griffin (Editor) Chris Bieschke (Editor), Charles Beasley (Editor), Buddy Kimberlin (Producer), Mason Flick (Editor) and Will Johnson (Narrator). 12th Man Productions was the only collegiate sports production finalist in this category. The behind-the-scenes and inside-the-locker-room weekly series following the Aggies has been consistently recognized for its quality, having been awarded three Lone Star EMMYs and as a seven-time EMMY finalist.



In the category of Sports Story – Short Form Content, 12th Man Productions received two nominations out of the six category finalists. Senior Producer Mason Flick was recognized with an EMMY nomination for his production short Quenton Jackson: My Aggie Story. Producer/Editor Caleb Griffin was recognized for his work creating the digital series in the same category,Rooted: Texas A&M Basketball.



12th Man Productions newest division, 12th Man Films, focuses on long-form storytelling of the historic figures, teams and moments that made an impact in Aggie history. Chris Sabo, the creative behind 12th Man Films, had content named as an EMMY finalist in two categories: Editor for a Promotional Composite and for Sports Promotion Campaign Package. The nominations are for support creative for the full-length documentary, Standing Room Only: The Legend of the 12th Man, which will premiere later this year.

Andy Richardson said. “They collectively are committed to the highest standards of creative storytelling focused on Texas A&M’s teams and Aggie student-athletes. We are equally excited for our newest creative area of 12th Man Films and Assistant Athletics Director Chris Sabo’s work to produce documentary-style content focused on deep-dive stories about the Aggies. The entire 12th Man Productions staff share in these noteworthy recognitions of television production excellence.”

As part of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences we are the standard-bearers for excellence in the television broadcasting industry and the gatekeepers of the prestigious regional EMMY Awards in Texas. Lone Star EMMY represents the most experienced and talented television professionals from all disciplines of the industry and from all of Texas’ 19 television markets. This year’s winners will be announced at the live Awards Show on Monday, August 8th at Gilley’s in Dallas.
