Need a little help.
Built a house and ran a natural gas line to a pre poured concrete pad (12' x 12').
Looking for some components for a round fire pit. Found online from woodlands direct a 36" stainless steel triple fire ring burner. I saw some other items like a steel insert. Not sure why I would need an insert. Would the insert hold the media you wan the flames to come through?
I currently have a 1'x1' square hole in the middle of the 12'x'12' slab for the gas line to run up through the fire pit. I thought about backfilling the hole once the gas line returns up with dirt flush with the top of the 12'x12' slab. Then build a 36"+ diameter stone surround and fill with gravel up to the burner then above the burner, glass media. The 36"+ surround where meets the slab to have drainage holes. Also, have a gas key for shut off.
Anyone build fire pits on a "regular" basis or have experience on what not to do?
Thanks in advance, (again).
