I'm driving from San Antonio to Portland in late May and I want to pass through both Moab and Lake Tahoe, then on to SF and up the coast. Has anyone made the drive from Moab to Reno/LT? It looks like a pretty sh!tty run, and I'm wondering if I should stick to I-80 through NV, state Hwy 50, or even dip down toward Vegas and come up through Mammoth Lakes, if it would be worth it. After Tahoe, I'm leaning toward Hwy 4 through the Sierras into the Bay area, because I thought Calaveras Big Trees State Park would be pretty cool.
