Re: #8 Florida is 34-18 --- #1 SEC at 19-8
Dealing with a cat-rammer, ain't much of a contest imoho.
In football, one game and make or break you. Not so in baseball or
in basketball. There, it's the season record and ranking that matters.
Tuesday night in G'ville, UF downs USF 8-2.
#8 UF is now 34-18, 19-8 SEC.
The Gator's at home vs SEC this season were 12-3, (without the 12 sissies).
Currently UF is +2 on Miss for overall, and +3 over VU in the SECe.
The Gators now shift their focus on trying to clinch the SEC title this
weekend in No-Knox, where they end the regular season with a 3-game
series against the Vols.
The Gators need to win 2 of 3 to guarantee a
win of the SEC Regular Season Title outright over Ms. They only
need to win 1 to guarantee the SECe over Vandy.
=============
The Florida Track & Field teams head to Lex-Ky., eyeing a pair of Conf.
titles at the
SEC Outdoor Championships on Thursday through Sunday.
Both the UF men and women are ranked No. 1 in the Nation heading
into postseason action.
They will only be going against 6 of the Top 10 teams in the Nation.
(UF, #2 aTm, #3 Ark, #6 UGa, #9 LSU, & #10 UA) as well as 5 of the
Top 10 women's squads (UF, #5 UK, #6 UGa, #7 LSU, & #8 Ark).
(this ain't the competition level of the pretender Big 12)
Football isn't the only sport that the SEC owns.....
(speed-kills)
Speaking of which:
Florida is one of 11 SEC teams in the NCAA Softball Tourney.
The Gator Softball team (45-11) earned a 5 seed in the NCAA Tourney,
and will host a Regional at home for the 12 Consecutive time. Gotta
have some pretty sweet facilities and a great team for the NCAA to pick
you for a
Regional Host. Also, the Gators are a Top 5 seed for the
7th Consecutive time.
Lacrosse
At 18-2, 4 seed ALC Champ Florida will again
Host an NCAA Quarter Final.
UF will play ALC rival, 5 seed NW, to see who will advance. NW is already a 7x
NCAA Lacrosse Champion btw. However, the Gators are in the midst of a ten
game winning streak, capped by a 19-9, weather-delayed home win over Denver
on Sunday in which
Tewaaraton Award finalist Shannon Gilroy became the
1st player in UF history to score more than 100 points (103) in a single season.
~ Why do you suppose the NCAA likes to use UF's sports facilities so often?
New is only part of it. Outstanding quality and the professional layout are Tops!
Press Box for the NCAA officials and hook-ups for the media are also keys.
So, how is aTm's Lacrosse team doing this season???
Now you
'Deal With It' if you can....
