It seems as if professional soccer at the international level has really started to catch on. I believe for it to really catch fire here, it will need to go through the proper semi pro channels as all other sports in America do. That being, college scholarship soccer. I realize some colleges have this already, but they do not have football.

The issue if I remember correctly is scholarship equality. Meaning that, equal number of scholarships for men's and women's sports have to be issued. Since football takes a large majority of the men's scholarships available, many colleges do not have men's soccer teams.

I think it might be time for a change. I am not sure how many scholarships the women's team is allowed but I would venture to guess it is around 22. Allowing you to outfit a solid two deep. To offset the scholarship impact, we should make up some bs female sport and give them the same number of scholarships. If we get on the ground floor now, 20 to 30 years from now we could be dominant. Just rambling, but I would love to see men's soccer at A&M in a massive stadium with the 12th man behind them. Would truly be an experience! There is money to be made here.
