My kiddo has really gotten into blades in the past couple of years, both from collecting cool knives to even forging them and making them, which by the way is a REALLY cool hobby, esp if you use old scrap iron to forge out a blade and make the handle yourself.
I always carry a pocket knife and have a decent little knife collection myself, but I have never been that great getting a razor-sharp edge on my knives. I do a lot of cooking, too, and it drives me insane that I can't get the edge that I want on a knife.
I have probably four or five different knife sharpening kits, including one like this:
Knife Sharpening Stones
Is that the best type of kit to use to get a really nice edge on a blade? Do you do a 15deg pitch on the blade, or do you do one at 7deg?
