It seems like a lot of people on here like to bitch about Spav because we aren't blowing people away like we did with Kliff and Johnny. Going back and looking, I think people forget that we piled up most of those points were piled up against some pretty bad teams. Here are our point totals:
Florida (7-1) -- 17
Arkansas (2-6) -- 58
Ole Miss (3-5) -- 30
LSU (6-2) -- 19
Auburn (0-8) -- 63
Miss State (4-4) -- 38
Alabama (7-1) -- 29
Missouri (2-6) -- 59
Notice that against teams with winning conference records, we only averaged 21.7 points per game. Against teams with losing conference records, we averaged 52.5 points. We really took advantage of playing against some bad teams. LSU, Florida, and Alabama were great that year, but overall, it wasn't a great year for the SEC. We'll see how things look at the end of the year, but I don't think it's really fair to compare things to the 2012 season because the bottom the SEC is much better this year than it was back then.
