Back in the Day before merger, the AFL used one model ball with its own pressure range, and the NFL used another model with another range of pressures. Both were used at the Super Bowls. Each offense used its own ball as desired by their leagues QBs, and the Ds simply learned to cope with the other league's ballwen it cme time to defend.
