I was so worried back on March 13th when the Daily Treasury Statement showed the national debt at 18,112,975,000,000. That was only $25M below the current legal debt limit! At the rate our boys were racking up debt we would be out of money by 3 AM...I could hardly sleep...another government shutdown by the time my alarm clock rang out!
But for the last 15 WEEKS our debt hasn't moved one red cent! Every Daily Treasury Statement since Monday, March 16th has reported the debt beginning and ending each day at $18,112,975,000,000. This is an outstanding display of bipartisan discipline.
