Many
of us figured that Cleveland Browns fans would want a certain SEC product to be
their starting quarterback when the Browns season begins next month, but who
knew that that SEC quarterback would be Connor Shaw?

In a poll on Cleveland.com asking readers to vote for who they think
should be the starting quarterback
in the season opener against Pittsburgh,
Shaw -- a South Carolina product -- is winning in a landslide over
first-round pick Joh$$y Manziel
of Texas A&M. Of course,
considering the way Manziel (and Brian Hoyer) performed and the timing of the
poll, some reactionary votes are to be expected. But by that[/I] wide a margin? Wow. Give Shaw credit, he was
the model of toughness and a winner during his South Carolina days and no doubt
there are many happy for him after he performed well on Monday night against
Washington. (without flippin' anyone off)

Re: Hey Cat-rammer, whatsmatta, cat gotcha tongue?

lol,,, but now back to 2014 SEC football talk.

What's the difference between SEC Charter members,
and the SEC newbees from the Big 12/10/11/whatever?

Here's my best example of the difference, besides having
quality, high character people playing QB that is....

In
the past 3 years the Gators have ranked no lower than 8th nationally in
total defense.

Those
rankings came against Top 10 SoS's, played against the SEC and FSU, among
others.

UF
20
- 17 @ aTm/Johnny $ignature. Why was that do you suppose?

To
be good in football, especially in the SEC, you have to be good up
the middle

of the field on defense. That includes the safeties, the
MLB, and the DT's.

Partial
roster for the 2014 Gators:

#6
FS Keanu 'Freakizoid' Neal Soph 6-1 203 **** 'Opening'

#7
SS Marcel 'Mud' Harris rsFr 6-1 208 **** UA-AA &
'Opening'

#3
ILB Michael Taylor rsSr 6-0 227 **** UA-AA - White Team MVP

#10
ILB Antonio Morrison Jr 6-1 223 **** SemperFi-AA

#2
ILB Alex Anzalone Soph 6-3 236 ***** UA-AA &
'Opening'

#3 wsDE/SLB) Dante Fowler Jr 6-3 261 ***** UA-AA &
'Opening'

#1 ssDE/DT) Jonathan
Bullard Jr 6-3 270 ***** Army-AA

#2 DT/DE Gerald Willis Fr 6-2 255 *****
UA-AA

#8
DT Leon Orr rsSr 6-5 305 **** UA-AA

#7
DT Darious 'Bear' Cummings Sr 6-1 297 **** ESPN JC50

#6
DT Caleb Brantley 6-2 295 rsFr **** UA-AA & 'Opening'

#16
DT Khari Clark 6-2 308 Fr **** Army-AA

------------

Allowing
the front 7 the time to do their jobs:

#1
CB Vernon Hargreaves III So 5-11 194 ***** UA-AA MVP,

HS
Natl. PoY -- Fr All SEC, Fr AA, Natl. Defensive PoY.

#2
CB (Nic) Brian Poole 5-10 206 Jr ***** UA-AA

#3
CB Jalen Tabor 6-0 193 Fr ***** UA-AA &
'Opening'
==============

And while defense probably doesn't actually win championships,
they certainly make it possible for the offense to do so...

So, have your Aggies improved their D for 2014?
