Why is Jimbo getting so upset at Saban's comments. We are all on here every day bragging about how much $$$ we have to throw around for NIL vs other schools. I don't see where it's a slap in the face of the kids and their families to take the best offer either. How many of us take jobs where we get paid less. Not often, unless the money is close and one job is obviously better than the other. Seems to me the kids looked at their options and, all things considered, A&M was the best option.
I think Jimbo should have said something like "Texas A&M has a huge alumni base who wants to do all they can to help build a championship program. They are willing and able to support the school and athletic department. We have also quickly developed an organized and resourceful network for NIL and have a great system to get our players in contact with that network. My staff and I continue to work hard to find and recruit the best players in the nation who we think will be able to help our program and, if they are interested in A&M we help them get in contact with a NIL representative."
Unless the truth is that NIL really had nothing do do with our record setting #1 class and its all just coincidence that we had that amazing class the same time NIL became legal. Jimbo just needs to settle down and say, "Yeah, we have a great NIL system here and the nation's best recruits are welcome to come be part of it."
