Head Health Network Announces Partnership with Texas A&M Football
COLLEGE STATION, TX – The Head Health Network (HHN) today announced a new partnership with the Texas A&M University football team. The partnership will provide the team with advanced impact sensors to monitor player impacts. The football team will use the sensors to gain a better understanding of how helmet impacts affect players and find ways to improve player performance while minimizing incidence of injury. The results of the study will also help the Head Health Network optimize their state-of-the-art sensors and real-time monitoring system.
“We greatly appreciate the leadership role Coach Sumlin and the entire Texas A&M football program are taking to make the game of football safer for their players,” said Head Health Network President Curtis Cruz. “The information we gain from working with the Texas A&M football team will help us as we work to expand the reach of proper concussion care to youth and high school teams.”
For the duration of the season, 10 Texas A&M football players will be equipped with helmets containing sensors that monitor impacts and relays data to sideline personnel in real time. Texas A&M joins Louisiana State University and Penn State University as teams who have partnered with the Head Health Network.
“This partnership is a win for our players who will benefit from having access to real-time impact monitoring technology and it’s a win for all future teams who will benefit from the knowledge and experience gained during this partnership,” said Texas A&M’s Head Football Athletic Trainer Owen Stanley. “The Texas A&M training staff prides itself on staying ahead of the curve and utilizing best in class tools, techniques and protocols to keep our athletes healthy and performing at a high level - we believe partnerships such as this are well aligned with these core principles.”
