Remember when you were young and you could sleep on any thing or any where. There wasn't any thing you wouldn't try at least once! You could eat any thing with out worry even those baked duck eggs in the PI islands. Wash it down with that odd red alcohol drink-can not even remember what it was called . Go to chief's house and have monkey brains. Then play the locals in a softball game.In California you liked to run up in the hills and down hills just for the hell of it. When you were in the sixth grade if you played sports you would have to walk home because the school bus left before the game was over but always you trotted home thru the grape fields, the cotton patches, thru peach orchards, down the rows of strawberry plants and thru the water melons in that last field before you were home! After that 8.5 miles you were not even winded. Life was not very complicated in those days.Early in life you learned to survive-remember when you transferred from that small country school where there were 2 classes of kids in one room! Washington elementary was a war zone- everyone there spoke a different language but those dark headed girls in the fifth grade were different. There were only 3 of you pale people and between classes you either had to fight or hide. After about 3 months you were finally accepted and you made some very good friends. On to middle school and lo and behold now you under stood what the dark headed Spanish girls were all about. In high school they helped you grow up and man were they something else.Back in those days there was only one girl that had big boobs-you remember her boobs but not her name. High school was a great time in your life-just plain fun. Then you joined the Marine Corp Reserves-my god those uniforms were beautiful. Stayed in the reserve all thru college-those young women at Univ. of California reminded you what was really important in life! Hard to believe that your graduating class was the last time they have played in the Rose Bowl. That OF line only averaged 190 pounds per player. Flash forward- now you hardly ever get a good nights rest and every bone in your body seems like it is out of place and you can'nt hear or see things at a distance any more-Is this the same body or did I trade it in for this one-can'nt remember. You go slowly down the drive way using your cane all the way and wondering why you had them make this drive way so long.Theres the paper-look close make sure it's not a copperhead-remember you have killed 4 of those critters out here.Grab the paper and retreat back to the house-safe at last-to the computer and Aggie Yell.
