It seems that there were several other unrelated issues with Joker, including
him NOT being the OC replacement for Pease. The latest issue being that he
is rumored to have had a 'bump' with a Jr recruit that finally resulted in him
deciding to move on.

That is about as minor a violation as there is, and if self reported and dealt with,
results in nothing for the school, and usually little more than the one responsible
for it being reduced by 1-2 recruiting days. That 'bump' was just the straw on
the Gator's back, it seems to me. And no Gator fan believed that Joker, a former
OC and HBC, would be a long term 'position coach' at UF. iG

How will this affect the 2015-16 receiver recruits?
The two receivers in Florida's 2015 class won't waver with Phillips gone.
TE's coach Derek Lewis was responsible for Derrick Dillon's commitment,
and offensive coordinator Kurt Roper primarily recruited Tristan Payton.

"It doesn't affect me at all," Payton said of Phillips. "I'm still solid." The early
returns on Leak assuming his coaching duties are positive. Sousa camped at UF
last summer and was impressed with Leak. "He's a QB, so he knows the WR
position,"
Sousa said. "He can get what he needs out of the players because he
has that perspective."
Added Gators 2016 commit WR Tre Jackson on Twitter:
"Chris Leak coached me all camp down at UF last year. Man knows what he's doing."

Our new WRs coach is 29-years old, one year older than Muschamp when Will
became Saban's DC at LSU, a yr younger than East Carolina's OC Lincoln Riley
who is moving up coaching lists, a little older than was Redskins HBC Mike Shanahan
when he became our OC and QB coach. Leak is married to a fellow UF grad and
they have a 4-yr old child. He was a finalist for the Draddy Award, as an outstanding
student at UF, and became keynote speaker for his UF graduating class. He brings
playing experience and reputation for immense film study and inspirational speaker to
middle and high school teens. So as far as I'm concerned, Leak is a home run hire!

Florida's Fawn Miller opened the NCAA Track and Field Championships for the UF
Women's team with a National Championship Title in the Javelin on Wednesday.

B-Ball Note: The only problem for BillyD in the coming season will be in choosing
who the 5 starters will be. He has 8-9 that could easily be starters with a log jam at
the forward positions. Whoever starts, there will be a lot of guys getting playing time.
A real nice problem to have imoho....

My own W-a-G on the starters:
PG Kasey Hill So (6-1, lightening quick and can drive to the basket and dunk)
SG Michael Frazier II Jr (UF single season record holder with 118 3-pt'ers)
~ SEC Single Game Record 3-pt'ers (12). USA Under-19 Gold Medal Team
PF Dorian Fenny-Smith rsJr (2013-14 best rebounder, SEC 6th Man of Year)
SF Devin Robinson Fr (5 star, HS Sr averaged 25 pts, 10 rbs, 4 blks)
C Chris Walker So (5 star MickyD AA and Slam Dunk Contest winner)
But as I've said, I expect to see 9-10 play in the games from the get-go.

A scUM thug from Mi-Am-I sent a photo of Joker in a restaurant with a recruit sitting
at his table. But without the details, not sure what it means for the Joker yet.

Former Florida WR's coach Phillips may have committed a major NCAA violation

by 'supposedly' having dinner in a restaurant with a recruit during a mandated

recruiting dead period, according to a Yahoo Sports report, citing unnamed sources.

The rumor in town is that Phillips resigned after a conversation with Gator AD Foley.

The question now is; was it a 'bump,' or did Phillips 'screw the pooch' with an intentional

meeting during the dead period? Certainly it's a 'sticky situation' for Phillips, but not

so much for UF or the Gator 'program' as a whole. (I just wonder how much that scUM

thug paid the HS kid to go sit down 'uninvited' at Joker's table for the picture that he

then sent to the NCAA?)

Gator 2015 verbal commit WR Derrick Dillon 5-11 175 dazzled at Saturday's summer

camp session, blowing by the CB's with his 4.4/40 speed and his remarkable agility.

He enjoyed working with new WR's coach Chris Leak and seemed happy with the hire.

"He was a real good dude," Dillon said. "He showed me a lot of stuff I need to work on. It's

going to be great getting coached by him when I get here." Once rated a 3-star prospect

by most, Dillon is now 4-stars on every site except Rivals and was invited to Ore. for Nike's
'The Opening'
2014 combine last Thursday. ~ Both Gator WR recruits are Nike invites.

Gator's Dedric Dukes (the South Region Men's Athlete of the Year) wins the 200-M NC

and the Gators take the 4x100 for another NC, but the Gator team finishes at #2 overall

with the NC 3-peat falling just short behind Ore. The Women fell a bit and finished 4th.

Gator's track and field coach Mike Holloway was named the USTFCCCA South Region

Outdoor Men's Coach of the Year, to go with his Indoor Women's South Region

Coach of the Year, that he received in March.

The Gator's junior 3x SEC Triple Jump Champion Ciarra Brewer was named the

SEC Co-Women's Field Athlete of the Year. The Gators swept both triple jump titles at

SEC outdoors, as Marquis Dendy claimed the men's championship, giving the Gators 6

of the last 7 triple jump titles on the women's side and 5 straight for the men.
