Additional last-second visitors
The list of visitors continues to expand. Florida Atlantic guard Dorian Hinton announced this morning that he’ll be coming in this weekend to visit. UAB corner B.J. Mayes, a Houston native, is coming from Arkansas to A&M today. He A&M as one of his three finalists, and if A&M wants him, it seems very likely they’ll get him.
Visitor list as we currently know it
RB:
E.J. Smith, Stanford (53 carries, 218 yards, 1 TD in 2023)
Jordan Waters, Duke (153 carries, 819 yards, 12 TD)
Ayo Adeyi, UNT (143 carries, 1,017 yards, 8 TD)
Ta’Ron Keith, Bowling Green (66 carries, 390 yards, 4 TD)
OL:
Derrick Graham, Troy (started all 14 games at LT)
Kurt Danneker, Ohio (Allowed 2 sacks in 445 dropbacks at LT)
Jacoby Jackson, Texas Tech (no sacks allowed in 324 dropbacks at guard)
Victor Stoeffel, Temple (RT; honorable mention All-AAC)
WR:
Jabre Barber, Troy (75 catches, 999 yards, 5 TD)
DE:
Elijah Alston, Marshall (45 tackles, 11.5 TFL, 6 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, 1 INT) (visited yesterday)
Jafari Harvey, Miami (Fla.) (23 tackles, 2.5 TFL, 1 sack)
Jared Bartlett, West Virginia (49 tackles, 6.5 TFL, 4 sacks)
DT:
Rodas Johnson, Wisconsin (19 tackles, 3 TFL, . 5 sacks)
Dion Wilson, New Mexico State (committed to Syracuse)
LB:
Cashius Howell, Bowling Green (28 tackles, 10.5 TFL, 9.5 sacks; 3rd Team All-MAC)
Scooby Williams, Florida (52 tackles, 1 sack, 2 forced fumbles)
DB:
Denver Harris, LSU (well, you know)
DJ Douglas, Tulane (CB; 54 tackles, 1 TFL, 3 INT)
Jaydon Hill, Florida (STAR; 39 tackles, 4 TFL, 2 sacks, 1 forced fumble)
Brandon Johnson, Duke (nickel; 56 tackles, 2 sacks)
Jalen Kimber, Florida (CB; 23 tackles, 1 fumble recovery)
WR movement a long way from over
The Aggies may lose wide receiver commit Javon Harvey, as the former Old Dominion receiver may want to play closer to home. A&M was checking out other options already, including Alabama’s Shazz Preston — who they will very likely take a run at — and Malik Benson. They are waiting to see if another couple of Alabama wideouts enter the portal, as they have one more day. But the Aggies need a couple more wideouts one way or the other, and it could be that they need as many as three.
Most likely commits for this weekend
Denver Harris
Scooby Williams
E.J. Smith
B.J. Mayes
Cashius Howell
There will probably be more, but those are the ones I’ve got some info on.
Don't expect a run for Judkins
Ole Miss losing RB Quinshon Judkins to the transfer portal is quite amusing, but don't look for the Aggies to go in pursuit. While A&M is looking to add a back or two from the portal, they're not likely to want to pay his price tag for a one year rental. They also may not want to ruffle the feathers of the three backs they already have on campus.
