Here's something simple that combines some of my favorite food items:
Pickled quail eggs
Large, fresh jalapenos, sliced in half lengthwise and seeded
Sharp cheddar cheese
Bacon
Put the cheese in the bottom of the jalapeno, put two quail eggs on top and wrap the whole mess with bacon. It may take two slices. All the better. Cook until the bacon is crispy. I like to do mine in a toaster oven set at 450 on a setting where both the top and bottom burners come on. You can do it on a grill in a pan with the lid closed, but I'd be careful about too much heat from underneath. Try doing it indirect or on a rack away from the coals.
