Here is something I think almost everyone on AY would enjoy watching. This is a documentary of a German pro football team in a small town (40,000 residents) that was started by an 18 year-old German who loved American football roughly 30 years ago. They are now in the top German league (GFL) and the smallest town to field a team. In the GFL, you can import 6 American players for each team in the league. Some former pro players, but many college players. Typically at the skill positions. Many of the larger teams pay their players. Outside the 6 Americans, you have to field Germans or other Europeans, etc. This town is all about this team, Schwabish Hall Unicorns, and their journey.

The guy who made this documentary played for Georgetown, then got accepted into the USC Film School (his dream), but decided he wasn't done playing football. Because......this German team kept reaching out. This covers 2 years of the team, the founder and coach (awesome human being) and just the life of 6 Americans who suddenly find themselves living/playing in Germany for either nothing or nearly nothing and helping create a pro team out of local Germans.

Here's the trailer. This is on Amazon Prime or can be watched on American Airlines should you have access to either. It's definitely worth the watch. It will bring back your love of the game of football.

Oh, and Christian McCaffrey is the Executive Producer.
