ESPN+ Subscription ONLY ?

I have Directv, Amazon Fire Stick, ROKU, and YouTubeTV.
Also, have ESPN APP... no matter how I navigate to ESPN+ it requires a subscription.
Is this just the way it is or is there a way to get ESPN+ without a subscription.
