Okay, I admit I might have been a little prematurely Chicken Little the other day. It happens. Work my job and you'll see. So, give me a mulligan here and let's take another look.
Roster - I've been say for a while we have more talent than what pundits think even with the defections. What we've lacked is really good coaching across the board. We do have a number of holes. The question is how to fill them. I don't the portal is the iffy proposition it once was with character stuff and the like so it does look we are attacking there first.
Portal - I like the staff's aggressiveness, not only for starters, but understanding we will need depth as well. The number of offers at the same positions tells me we are building depth in addition to finding players to start. It's a numbers game now and we have to play it well. I absolutely do not like the "tampering" that's going on with coaches who will be leaving current jobs soon. I understand it, but I don't like it. Still, I believe portaling is the quickest option to round out our roster the right way.
Preps - I'm extremely curious who will sign early. Obviously, higher ranked players will have more options, but we may also have some coaches with existing player relationships we didn't know about. Most but not all will sign. That's where top evaluations will come in.
