Says he's proud that they played well enough to win, but they were very choppy and weren't playing their best.
Calls the third quarter "horrendous".
Says the run issues appear to be sorted out, but problems elsewhere are showing up.
Says there isn't the same glaring issues aren't showing up each week, so that's a sign of improvement, but there are holes that appear each week. Some of that may be expected with a new scheme and coaches, but they should be beyond most of that now.
Asked about Moose, he says it's the same thing as before, a lack of consistency.
Says Petrino has a really good plan for running the ball, has a great plan for throwing deep and is an elite playcaller.
Says they didn't really worry getting just five guys on the offensive line, says that he is happy they got a lot of guys a lot of reps at different positions. The versatility that they've prepared for "the next step" since spring ball has allowed them to get through the injuries they've suffered.
Talking about spying the quarterback, it varies from down to down. The responsibility can change as the play unfolds, the routes, things like that. Says that prepping for Riley Leonard already helps them being ready for a dual threat QB.
Says Green's ability to make big plays should enhance the attention level of the defense.
Weigman will be a game time decision again. But he was definitely talking like it'll be Reed.
Says the team has the ability to do everything on offense, defense and special teams, they're just not doing it all week-to-week. "We have to be more consistent in what we're doing."
Talking about the lack of consistency, he says the defense could stop a play in the first half and blow the coverage completely on the exact same play in the second half.
