Hey all, sorry I haven't posted in awhile but wanted to give you an update on Dylan now that we are halfway through treatment.

First off, though, I wanted to send out a huge thank you for the Holiday fundraiser. Through your generosity, Aggie Yell raised over $15,000 for Dylan's treatment. And I can promise that the funds will be used in a way that would make "Texas 90" proud....more on that below. I also wanted to make sure to express my thanks to Mark for orchestrating the drive and making it happen. Mark actually insisted on coming to the house to meet Dylan and hear her story. However dysfunctional it is, this community rallies when a member is in need, and that comes from the top. So to Mark and Arie.....The Probe family has your eternal gratitude.

Many of you probably read the thread a few weeks ago about Maverick and his unfortunate battle with Ewing's Sarcoma. There was also another story on TOS about an A&M senior who also lost her battle to this same disease. Our prayers go out to both of these warriors.

Dylan's fight with Ewing's Sarcoma started just 4 short months ago. Luckily for her, the diagnosis was confined to her foot. We began chemotherapy on December 2nd and will be finishing up our 6th round on Monday. While not out of he woods, I'm happy to report that preliminary scans show that the chemo is working and the tumor has reduced in size. Using the words of our newly elected fearless leader.......Yuuge news. This significantly improves the prognosis of Dylan's longevity.

Unfortunately, the tumor was too large to leave enough healthy heel bone to allow us any other viable alternative than a below knee amputation of her right leg. The surgery is scheduled for March 17th. We have been honest with Dylan from the beginning and she is onboard with the decision.....well, as onboard as a 10 year old can be. It's obviously a stressful decision for her, but she understands that this option gives her the best chance of the combination of not only survival, but also functionality.

This is where all of you come in. My wife Megan and I have decided to allocate the funds raised from Aggie Yell to Dylan's prosthetic expenses going forward. I'm still navigating the insurance world when it comes to prosthetics, but preliminary research indicates that the funding is minimal....much of the expense will be out of pocket. I want all of you to know, and Texas 90 to know, that all of your generosity will allow Dylan to continue to live the life that a 10 year old should. Running, jumping, swimming, dancing, and all the other things a young girl should enjoy. She will make you proud.

Dylan has never been to see A&M play football. My hope is that we can tailgate and attend a game this year, where many of you can meet this amazing young lady and see the benefits of your contributions. And that Dylan may someday meet the family of "Texas 90" so that they may see, in some small way, how his memory lives on.

Thanks again, and gig'em!!
