I'm driving from Houston to Irving (near intersection of 114 and 161) tomorrow morning. I will be getting to the Dallas area around 8, goal is to be in Irving around 9. Is that enough time, and what route should I take?

I assume that just taking 45 to 35 through the middle of town is a bad idea at 8 AM?

Would it work to cut west at I 20 and then 161 all the way to the destination?
