The past few years we have spent a few weeks in Salida during the summer.
I love to fly fish and have fished many of waters around Salida, Fairplay, the Conejos, etc.
We are going back to Salida this summer for 3 weeks. I am interested in staying elsewhere for a week. Others have spoken highly of Creede and Lake City, and the Rio Grande area (South Fork?) looks like good area to explore. Maybe Durango?
Appreciate any thoughts on towns and areas worth considering as a home base for fishing new water.
