Rewatched parts of the ASU game and then did the same with the Mississippi state game focusing specifically on Brandon Williams and his development at corner.

His technique is definitely improving as he gains more experience. He is outstanding when he can take an inside position on a receiver and force him into the sideline. Brandon, while more of a straight line runner as a RB, has the hips for the corner position and there is noticeable improvement in his transition from backpedaling to turning and running with a receiver. Part of that improvement is recognition speed improving as his experience base expands but he definitely has the hips and the speed to play.

Williams is a physical player. He did not shy from contact as a RB and he definitely likes coming up a delivering a hit. I like him because he is aggressive but not so aggressive that he takes a bad line to the ball carrier. When defending against the pass his size and strength is a definite advantage and he players taller than his height because he appears to have long arms and large hands for a man his size.

I like it when people take calculated risk and it works out. Those are the kinds of folks I like to root for.

Brandon's willingness to change positions at this stage of his collegiate career tells us a number of things about him:

1. He is not afraid to take a risk.
2.He can think outside of the box and adapt.
3. He does not have a "know it all" attitude as this move required him to take some serious coaching and teaching and not just from the coaching staff.
4. He is a team player not a me player.
5. He is the type of player who has the capacity to make those around him better. Specifically, his switch to the secondary helped Nick Harvey to change his mind set to become the type of corner the Chavis and Joseph wanted him to be. Nick was a timid tackler last year. This year he may be the most improved player in the secondary and he is turning into a real hitter.
6. His teammates respect what he did and how he did it as evidenced by his being named a defensive captain.

Brandon is one of my favorite players. He will make mistakes and he will get burned but he will end up playing on Sundays and while it may not happen next year at some point he will be a starter in the NFL and barring injury I believe we will see him in a pro bowl.

I wish him every success!
