Now that I’ve had a couple of days to think this through, here is how the program should approach this:
1. Very near term - name a new baseball head coach. By Friday. We need to do this due to the transfer portal, but mostly to help with the narrative.
2. NIL - massive donation campaign to significantly increase our NIL payments to baseball players.
3. Addressing Schloss - simply put, there needs to be a massive, and perpetual, character assassination. He has certainly gotten the ball rolling with his actions. We need to hire a PR firm to ensure that his character remains front, and center, in their program.
Player and parent tweets are a great place to start. Constant reminders of how he treated his players and his behavior need to be ever-present in the eyes of elite baseball players and their families. “Lying and stealing” need to be synonymous with his name.
We need some non-A&M-affiliated writer to put out a piece about how Schloss abandoned his family (particularly his children), abandoned his team at TCU, and abandoned his team at A&M, during a CWS run.
Lying and disloyalty are poor character traits, but Schloss has them in spades. Make it very hard for him to sell himself to players and their families.
