VAWA? you say - Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act
Every semester at TJC we are required to attend some professional development sessions to keep current.
Last Spring I picked one about VAWA. A student affairs person and the head of campus police were there. VAWA is an extension of Title IX that basically says that if a female student is the victim of any assault or threat the school must take any and all measures to investigate the case and protect the student. Documentation must be thorough. Any violation of this carries heavy penalties. They mentioned the ut case where a football player and teammate raped a girlfriend in the dorm - police found her hiding under a table in the foyer. Immediate action was taken.
Sounds to me like Baylor is in violation.
Any experts out there?
