I went back to last year and looked at ASU's stats. of first downs and total yardage verses opponents. Based on moving the ball down the field and controlling the tempo, ASU should have lost to Colorado, Oregon St. and Washington State. Believe it or not these three teams dominated ASU except for turnovers.
Then you look at the USC, Notre Dame and Washington and those three games could easily gone either direction. Those games were evenly matched except again for turnovers. ASU is a team good at creating turnovers.
Yes ASU ended with a 10-3 record giving them momentum into 2015 season. But they easily and should have been 7-6 and that is giving them all three wins against evenly played games.
Last year the breaks all went ASU's direction. If the Aggies control the ball without turnovers we walk away with this game with ease.
