I am creating some timesheets for my weekend assistance. I was once a master at Excel, but am having trouble subtracting 10 percent from a sum. In cell E7 I have the sum of hours worked and in cell C51 I have E7 multiplied by 10 to calculate the total earnings. I want to account for taxes, though. Every example I've looked at by googling uses three cells to complete this and I am looking for a formula that will multiply the hours by 10 and then subtract 10 percent from it without using another cell.

The following formula =SUM(E7*10-10%) only subtracts 10 cent from the sum of E7*10 Shouldn't this formula subtract 10 dollars if the hours worked are 10. My weekend caregiver works 22 hours regular time and 26 hours respite. 10 dollars an hour regular and 7.25 respite. I've got it all worked out with the exception of factoring in a 10 percent tax.
